The Have Your Say team at DCS is a multidisciplinary team that can work with you on high-priority consultation projects across government.

Depending on your project's needs and resourcing available, our team can provide services including engagement, communications, data analytics, dashboards, customer insights, and reporting.

Have Your Say team

Communications and engagement specialists that bring digital engagement excellence to all projects.

The HYS team will also manage the relationship between the DCS multidisciplinary team and your team. They have oversight of all deliverables from start to finish.

Data Analytics Centre

Provides data engineering and data science services to support on complex, stakeholder-oriented challenges.

The team can ingest and transform your data in their secure database, deliver PowerBI visualisations and provide best practise advice. They can also use large language models / AI to enrich datasets and a variety of text analytics.

Customer Insights team

Advises on research and survey design, optimising user experience to increase participation and reduce drop-out.

They conduct advanced data analysis to explore diverse demographic opinions and behaviours, and create insights reports that visualize and coherently explain the results.

Phase 1: Planning the consultation

Allow for at least 4-6 weeks from the kick-off meeting to publishing the consultation.

Lead times will be further refined during this period and are dependent on content deadlines and approval timelines being met.

Phase 2: While open for feedback

This will depend on how long your consultation is collecting feedback. Check whether you have a legislative requirement to exhibit for a required period.

Phase 3: After consultation closes

Customer Insights report - depending on the level of data and analysis and reporting required, it will take 2-6 weeks from the consultation closing date to delivery of an insights report.

Phase 1 can include the following services:

  • kick-off meeting (plus ad hoc or regular planning meetings as required)
  • refine brief and co-design the online consultation
  • project agreement with agreed services provided and timeframes
  • develop/refine the page content and key messaging
  • survey and/or feedback tool co-design
  • stakeholder mapping
  • marcomms and promotion planning
  • build the consultation and feedback tools on the Have Your Say platform
  • testing, accuracy checks, approvals and publish.

Phase 2 can include the following services:

  • promotion of online consultation on multiple, high impact channels
  • monitor and adjust promotion approach if required
  • stakeholder comms support
  • live dashboard.

Phase 3 can include the following services:

  • Update the HYS page: close feedback tools, update timeline and add wording to inform stakeholders the consultation is under review.
  • Advanced data analysis: in-depth data analysis, exploring the varying opinions and behaviours of different demographics.
  • Custom reporting: a range of reporting options, from in-depth reports to streamlined summaries, delivering actionable customer insights tailored to client needs. At request, reports can be designed to meet WCAG standards.
  • Survey data ingestion: including storage in a secure cloud-based environment and the ability to connect and provide access to government and non-government partners.
  • Text analysis and topic modelling: various Machine Learning techniques can be used to analyse text and identify themes and topics.
  • Data cleansing, transformation, and presentation: deliver Power BI dashboards (either collection summary and/or dashboard based upon your need).
  • Close the loop: Support to feedback to stakeholders with outcomes from the consultation.
