About proposed changes to NSW TrainLink coaches in the North West Region
Based on passenger feedback, we're proposing improvements to better connect you to where you need to go, when you need to go.
With new days and times of services, new stops, and new and improved routes, we want you to have your say and let us know your feedback.
These proposed changes are expected to come into effect in 2026.
New services:
- New Route AP1 to operate on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday between Armidale and Port Macquarie and return, providing an Armidale to North Coast connection three days per week. At Wauchope the coach connects with rail services giving access to and from Coffs Harbour, Grafton, the Northern Rivers, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
- New daily Route TM1 between Tamworth and Muswellbrook and return, for a new day-return link to and from Newcastle via rail interchange at Muswellbrook.
Additional frequencies and new services:
- Additional Wednesday service on Routes 361 and 362 between Tamworth and Dubbo and return. The service now operates Monday, Wednesday and Friday in each direction.
Improved local access:
- New Armidale CBD stop for Routes 327, 328, 337 and 338 Tenterfield to Armidale and return, and Inverell to Armidale and return. The new stop is at Central Beardy Mall, Faulkner St.
Reduced travel times:
- Timetables reviewed and adjusted where necessary.
