Why are we collecting your personal information?

The Department of Customer Service (DCS) and Transport for NSW (Transport) are collecting your personal information through this consultation for the purpose of understanding how people travel along key routes in and around the Northern Beaches, gather feedback on proposed improvements, and ensure we hear from a broad and diverse range of community members. This information will help inform the Northern Beaches Network Review and guide Transport’s planning and priorities.

What personal information do we collect?

We will collect the following information from you:

Demographic information (e.g. age range, postcode)
Your views, experiences and feedback about travelling on the Northern Beaches
Your contact details if you choose to provide them (e.g. email address)

How will we use and disclose this information?

DCS and Transport will use the personal information we collect about you to:

Analyse feedback to understand community needs, travel behaviours and preferences
Assess how proposed changes may impact different users
Prepare insights to support decision‑making for the Northern Beaches Network Review

We may provide your personal information to other areas of the DCS, for example the Data Analytics Centre (DAC) and Customer Insights, so that we can conduct analysis across all consultations and refine our engagement methodology. The personal information will be stored on the DAC’s secure platform, which is hosted in a secure commercial cloud data centre in Australia.

Are you required by law to provide us with this information?

Participating in a Have your say consultation is voluntary, and you are not legally required to provide any personal information to us. However, if you choose not to provide us with the requested information, we may not be able to fully understand your experience or incorporate your views into our analysis.
