Consultation was open on five codes of practice between 19 May and 19 June 2023.
These codes were:
- Collection of domestic waste
- Moving plant on construction sites
- Safety in forest harvesting operations
- Tunnels under construction

Thank you to everyone who participated; your feedback provided valuable information for SafeWork NSW to manage the next stage of the review.
SafeWork NSW has established an Industry Social Partners Working Group of specific industry and union representatives to review the public consultation responses and existing content. This is to ensure codes reflect work health and safety (WHS) best practices, technologies, and environmental conditions to achieved WHS standards required under the 2011 Work Health and Safety Act and 2017 Regulation laws. This will inform the next steps and if the codes will be updated. We expect to update you and this page over the next six months.
