Have your say to help improve work health and safety in NSW

SafeWork NSW is reviewing the Technical guidance code of practice and is asking for your help to make sure it:

  • is still relevant
  • is easy to understand
  • supports current and emerging work practices and technologies.

Codes of practice aim to provide information and guidance to make sure health and safety risks are identified, assessed, eliminated or controlled according to work health and safety laws.

The Technical guidance code of practice was written in 2001, incorporating Australian Standards without modification in the following areas:

  • boilers
  • laser and electrical equipment safety
  • personal protective devices
  • new lift installations, lifting gear, safe use of cranes, fixed platforms, scaffolding, stairways and ladders, conveyors and tilt up constructions
  • powered industrial trucks.

Other work health and safety codes of practice may include technical guidance in a list of Australian standards.

Tell us what you think
