The Early Works planning application was placed on public exhibition on 20 November for a period of 28 days, allowing staff and the community to view the application and provide feedback. Submissions closed at 11.59pm on 18 December 2025.

A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) was prepared to assess the potential benefits and environmental impacts of the project. Feedback was provided via the online submission form and will help inform the future of Canterbury Hospital. While submissions are now closed, the REF remains available for review in the document library.

The proposed early works include:

• Expansion and refurbishment of existing Antenatal facilities
• Internal fleet carpark modifications
• Relocation and upgrades of in-ground services
• New exterior plant room
• Minor tree removal
• Establishment of work zone and amenities

Health Infrastructure engages with community and stakeholders, including seeking input and feedback on the Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment in accordance with our Community Participation Plan.
