Early design phase

In February 2025, the zonal master plan for the $350 million Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment was released, outlining the proposed location of the redevelopment. As planning progresses through concept design, the project team has mapped out how the identified how the scope and services will be distributed within the redevelopment. The proposed block and stack diagrams below illustrate this planning in more detail.

3D Block and Stack

The block and stack diagram is a tool used to visually represent the layout of the hospital’s departments and services, showcasing their location and relationship to one another. This process helps inform how the hospital will be arranged, to ensure departments and services are placed in a way that supports operations and clinical flow.
