Investing in you

Western Sydney is one of the most diverse and dynamic economic centres in the world. It is a rich mix of new and old, with a huge cross-section of cultures and people from all walks of life. The pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone in our state, with some of the biggest challenges being faced by people in Western Sydney. Lockdowns made it clear where we need to do more to improve liveability in our communities and deliver better local facilities.

WestInvest will revitalise high streets, improve parks, create new sporting fields, build pools, enhance local traffic flow, increase transport links and improve local schools.

Tell us what you think

  • Findings released

On Monday, 18 April 2022, the NSW Government released the findings of the WestInvest ‘Have Your Say’ Survey.

More than 5,400 people submitted ideas through the ‘Have Your Say’ survey, with 11,336 ideas generated. The WestInvest Program Office undertook an analysis of the feedback and ideas presented in the surveys against the WestInvest Program Guidelines, which serve as the basis of the WestInvest ‘Have Your Say’ Summary Report. Suggestions from community members that did meet the eligibility guidelines ranged from walking and cycling paths, multicultural centres, museums celebrating food and culture, to swimming pools and footbridges over cleaner rivers (Click here to read the WestInvest ‘Have Your Say’ Summary Report). Surveys and ideas put forward through the ‘Have your Say’ process were for consultation purposes only and do not form part of a formal application under the WestInvest Program. This feedback however, will help inform the assessment of projects submitted for the city-changing program.

While some ideas put forward through the ‘Have Your Say’ survey did not meet the WestInvest Guidelines, they did provide an insight into the projects that are important to local residents. This information will be collated and shared with the relevant local councils and NSW Government agencies to help inform future planning in Western Sydney.

Thank you to everyone who participated.
