Cycleway must be on Oxford
The cycleway needs to be on Oxford Street so that bikes and personal mobility can be used to access all the amenities it offers. We should consider that children and the elderly are potential cyclists and make Oxford Street and surrounds a safer place to access. The proposal for a Moore Park Road ‘by-pass’ assumes cyclists - but not motorists - are through traffic. Diversions don’t work - as was shown by the $36m wasted on Tibby Cotter Bridge. If the intent is to encourage active…

Agree! But I fear they aren't listening and going to push this disaster through :(

i agree wholeheartedly with the above view, particularly as I have a disability which will make accessing public buses difficult. and a major inconvenience for 98% of population, if this cycleway is completed

There would be a few urban planners in Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Brussels, London, Berlin who might disagree. Parochial lot aren’t we?

Agree to your comments, what has been said for years and no one at Transport NSW is listening.
Another point is the unbalanced view to eliminate and landlock residents of Paddington Sth, Moore Park and Centennial Park by eliminating all right hand turns from Oxford St into Greens Rd, Oatley Rd and Lang Rd. Is it fair to force residents to travel to Bondi Junction and turn to come back ???
How do residents from the northern side of Oxford St come across to Centennial Parklands, SCG and Stadium facilities and access Moore Park Rd to travel to the M1 northbound entrance as well as suburbs beyond. One access road exists, that is one-lane congestion Queen St Woollahra. There goes that village! The Lang Rd right hand turn needs to remain.
Fairer to the majority of residents on both sides of Oxford St to improve Moore Park bike lane.

Cycling is a solution to traffic congestion not the cause!

Gee thanks Eva. Not really. Literally 99% of the cyclists are delivery drivers. I wonder who is really funding this cycle way / local politicians… be realistic!
Level 3
Do you honestly believe that the delivery companies who treat their riders like an expendable resource, pay them a pittance, and refuse to grant them basic workers rights would fork out millions of dollars to build a public cycleway?

This is going to make such a wonderful difference to our high street. At last we will be able to walk on our sidewalks without the threat of being run over by a cyclist. Also looking forward to our environment being rid of the fumes and noise pollution of a four lane highway.

I am also a resident of Paddington, where I have lived for 45 years. I also ride a bike and am in favour of this proposal.
