Provide your feedback on how the community is notified when we use pesticides in public places.
Transport for NSW uses pesticides in public places when necessary to control weeds, to protect public property from pest damage and to protect the users of public places from nuisance or danger. The term ‘pesticides’ includes herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, termiticides and vertebrate baits.
Our Pesticide use notification plan has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Pesticides Regulation 2017. This plan sets out how Transport, our agencies and our contractors will notify the community of the application of pesticides in public places with the aim of meeting the community’s general right to know about pesticide applications in outdoor public places.
Transport ensures pesticides are applied to public places in a safe, responsible manner, minimising harm to the community or the environment.
Tell us what you think
The opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the plan is now open. Your feedback will be taken into consideration as we finalise the plan. Feedback is not sought on the type of pesticide use or the method or frequency of application.
You can provide feedback on the plan by reading the document and completing the form on this site.
You can access a digital copy of the document on this site, or a hardcopy of the document at the Transport for NSW Head Office concierge desk (231 Elizabeth St, Sydney NSW 2000).
