DCS Spatial Services is updating NSW’s Survey Control Information Management System (SCIMS) and would like your feedback.
Since the year 2000, SCIMS has stored and delivered permanent survey mark coordinates and associated meta data. There have been upgrades to how the surveying and spatial industry access and use this information over this time but it is now due for a major overhaul. Technology platforms, new ways of using data and additional datasets have led to DCS Spatial Services seeking your advice on the features of a new database and method of both accessing and providing data for NSW’s Survey Control Network.
Your feedback will help to prioritise this work, as well as identify areas that may not have been considered. The survey may even identify ways you can access and use SCIMS data that you weren’t already aware of.
Development of the new system will be progressive over the next few years with final delivery expected in 2027.
Tell us what you think
Have your say will be collecting survey submissions until 5PM, 8th December 2024. Individual stakeholders with specific requirements will be engaged separately as a part of the change process.
A request for testers is included in the survey so if you would like to dedicate your time to ensure the best user experience in the future, please let us know.
