About the project

Planning is underway for the new North Sydney Ambulance Station proposed at 224–230 Falcon Street North Sydney.

The new station will significantly enhance emergency capacity across the Lower North Shore, supporting paramedics to deliver timely and high quality emergency and mobile medical care.

The station is one of 30 new ambulance stations being delivered across Sydney, the Central Coast, Hunter and Illawarra regions in the coming years.

Station features

The purpose-built station will feature:

  • Internal parking for up to eight emergency ambulance vehicles
  • Multipurpose, logistics and storage spaces
  • Staff amenities
  • Vehicle wash facilities
  • An office area for administration
  • On-site parking (in basement).

Next steps

The planning report for the project will be publicly exhibited in early 2026.

The community will have an opportunity to review the plans and provide their feedback via this platform.

Once plans are approved and a builder appointed, preliminary works to prepare the site will commence.

We will update the community as the project progresses.

Paramedics deliver mobile and responsive emergency and mobile medical care when and where you need it in the community.

The station supports paramedics:

  • prepare for the start of their shift
  • clean, restock and charge ambulances
  • undertake training and administrative duties
  • access meal breaks when they have returned to the station after attending call outs.

The building’s internal layout is also designed to facilitate efficient access, circulation, parking and egress for ambulances and other vehicles.

The proposed design of the new North Sydney Ambulance Station reflects the character of the local area, using materials and landscaping that complement nearby buildings along Falcon Street.

The multistorey station will feature a brick façade that draws on local architectural styles and provides a human scale and interest to the building. The building will be a similar height to neighbouring structures and include basement carparking.

To support safe and efficient operations, the design includes separate entry and exit driveways. The ambulance station will be built to the eastern boundary and setback from the rear boundary.

Sustainability features will include an on-site stormwater management system and solar panels installed on the roof.

The safety of the community and our workers is our number one priority.

We will do everything we can to keep noise and dust to a minimum such as using quieter equipment where possible, turning off vehicles when not in use, and working during standard construction hours wherever possible.

Additional controls will be in place during demolition and site preparation activities such as wetting down the site and air quality monitoring.

Fencing and construction hoarding will ensure site security.

Traffic controllers will support pedestrian and traffic safety during periods of site access.
