Help shape the future of maritime infrastructure in NSW

Transport for NSW is planning for the future maritime infrastructure agenda and we’re seeking your input to help shape this next phase.

To get started, we’ve released a Maritime Infrastructure Discussion Paper, which outlines the progress made under the Maritime Infrastructure Plan 2019 - 2024, including efforts to improve access, enhance safety, and make better use of our waterways. The Discussion Paper also identifies key focus areas that will guide future investment and infrastructure delivery.

Key focus areas include:

  • key investment locations
  • maritime infrastructure prioritisation and delivery
  • safe and sustainable access
  • technology and data
  • maritime infrastructure planning and property
  • responding to dredging needs

This marks a key milestone in Transport’s ongoing commitment to working with communities, stakeholders, and the broader maritime sector to guide future planning and investment in maritime infrastructure.

Tell us what you think

We invite you to review what’s been achieved so far and share your views on how we can further improve the delivery and investment of maritime infrastructure in the future. Your feedback will help ensure that future investments deliver safe, sustainable and accessible maritime infrastructure for everyone.

You can provide feedback by completing a short survey, providing a written submission, or both. Read the Maritime Infrastructure Discussion Paper to help inform your feedback.

Public consultation will close at 11:59pm on Friday 3 October 2025.
