Health Infrastructure (HI) is proposing to carry out main works at Manning Hospital at 26 York Street, Taree NSW 2430 on land described as Lot 1 DP1011890.
The NSW Government is investing $180 million in the Lower Mid North Coast Health Service project, bringing together the Manning Hospital Redevelopment - Stage 2 and Forster-Tuncurry health facility projects.
Work to deliver the Manning Hospital Redevelopment is another step closer with planning documents now on public exhibition for the community to view and provide feedback.
Manning Hospital Redevelopment aims to boost health services for communities across the lower Mid North Coast, provide contemporary facilities to support best practice models of care, provide patients, families and carers with contemporary facilities to meet the health needs of the community now and in the future, improve access around Manning Hospital and better connectivity of services, and enable new and upgraded clinical facilities to be seamlessly integrated into the future.
The planning documents will reflect a revised scope for the Manning Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 redevelopment. The revised scope includes the construction of a four-storey building, allowing space for future expansion of services at the hospital
Also included in the scope is:
- Construction of a new four-storey Inpatient Unit building, allowing space for future expansion of services at the hospital.
- A Coronary Care Unit.
- Relocation and provision of a new Mortuary.
- Pharmacy and Pathology spaces.
- Enhanced connections to the existing campus building.
- Installation of a new electrical substation.
- External landscaping works.
Additional scope opportunities will be discussed with the main works contractor once they are appointed.
As part of this process, a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) has been prepared to assess the works impacts and is on public exhibition until midnight on Friday 13 February 2026.
