Performer and industry representative laws

We are calling on all singers, dancers, acrobats, actors, models, musicians, industry representatives, managers, venue organisers and industry hirers to have your say on entertainment industry laws.

We are reviewing the Entertainment Industry Act 2013, the law that sets out protections for more than 49,000 performers and supports the industry in NSW.

This is a standard review to make sure the law is up to date, relevant and reflects the changes to the entertainment sector.

We are seeking feedback on:

  • industry representatives (reps) and their obligations
  • dispute resolution between performers and industry reps or hirers
  • penalty and enforcement arrangements
  • a public register
  • duty of care and due diligence guidelines.

We want to hear from:

  • performers and parents or guardians of child performers
  • members of the public interested in entertainment industry law
  • industry representatives
  • associations, consumers and community groups.

We have prepared a discussion paper, which has more details. You can also refer to the documents and links section and Entertainment Industry Act 2013 for more information.

Tell us what you think

Your comments and suggestions will help us better understand how the current laws are working.
