SafeWork NSW is reviewing training requirements for demolition supervisors.
Licensed demolition work requires specially trained supervisors to be on site to protect the safety of workers and the wider community.
We are proposing changes to the required units of competency needed to become a demolition supervisor. These changes will:
- make sure training is more relevant to current work practices
- streamline units of competency and remove duplication
- focus on managing common hazards to improve workplace safety
- develop supervisors’ capabilities and understanding of structural principles.
For more information, see the Demolition supervisor training discussion paper.
We want to hear from past and present workers and employers in demolition and construction, as well as registered training organisations (RTOs) that provide demolition training.
