Closing the Gap NSW Implementation Plan

We want your feedback on the NSW Implementation Plan on Closing the Gap.

The NSW Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations (CAPO) and the NSW Government have been working in partnership to develop the plan to guide how the National Agreement on Closing the Gap will be implemented in NSW. This Implementation Plan outlines the Closing the Gap roadmap for 2021-22 and is the first iteration of the 10-year annual review process.

There are four Priority Reforms in the National Agreement and a NSW specific Priority Reform with the aim of transforming the way governments work with Aboriginal communities to create positive change.

  1. Formal partnerships and shared decision-making
  2. Building the community-controlled sector
  3. Transforming government organisations
  4. Shared access to data and information at a regional level
  5. (NSW specific) Employment, business growth and economic prosperity

We want your feedback on what we should continue and what we need to improve for the next NSW Implementation Plan. Your feedback will ensure we’re moving in the right direction for transformative change for Aboriginal people.

  • First NSW Implementation Plan For Closing The Gap

    The NSW Government and the NSW Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations (NSW CAPO) have launched the State’s first Implementation Plan under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap. The Plan sets out the Government’s formal roadmap to achieve meaningful reform in four priority areas outlined in the National Agreement, as well as a fifth NSW-specific priority reform focusing on employment, business growth and economic prosperity for First Nations people.
