Help us accelerate business and jobs growth on the Central Coast.
The NSW Government is preparing a strategy to find and boost economic opportunities on the Central Coast.
We've met with local council, key industries and government agencies in the region. They helped us to identify several initial areas that could grow businesses and jobs locally.
Now we want your advice!

Your thoughts
1 day agoCLOSED: Thank you for your input. This brainstorm is now closed as we are currently reviewing your ideas. We have identified initial areas of interest that could help stimulate the economy and create local jobs on the Central Coast:
- Locate a university campus in Gosford city centre to bring greater learning opportunities to the region, stimulate the economy and create local jobs
- Expand health services in Gosford to support the Central Coast’s growing population and generate local jobs
- Facilitate faster transport connections to and from regional centres to foster economic growth and new jobs on the Central Coast
- Increase the amount of serviced industrial lands on the Central Coast to support and expand industries such as food technology and advanced manufacturing
- Streamline planning processes to help remove barriers, such as uncertainty and wait times, for businesses looking to locate on the Central Coast
- Establish a high-speed internet network to attract new, diverse businesses to the Central Coast and remove any existing barriers for growth related to digital connectivity
What do you think? Please share your thoughts by telling us:
- Can you identify any challenges or opportunities in any of the above?
- What does success look like to you in any of these?
JMillwardabout 2 months agoRemoval of dangerous trees North Gosford
North Gosford has a large amount of ageing and dying ghost gumtrees. Over the past few years due to soil erosion and changing climate we have seen them toppled through homes and bring the region into fear of the next tree falling through our homes. There is a massive risk of this causing death and property damage to further the damage faced even single storm by our community. We ask that our council considers this a priority before it takes a life.

We need a large university presence to add to the life of Gosford. We're seeing great progress with the hospital precinct and a university presence will help continue this momentum. Seeing how Western Sydney University is established in the Parramatta CBD is a great example of what is possible.

Historically Brisbane Water relied on water transport. Additional ferry services, govt owned or private, stopping at more waterside locations than now, and a regular run to Gosford, would provide a unique tourism experience and an alternate resident transport option. It would also help reduce road congestion and parking space pressure.

The regions aviation asset needs to be further supported to foster services in aerial firefighting and Rural fire services. Air ambulance landing and departure point. Flight training and to provide recreational flying opportunities for locals. Provide a space for aircraft maintenance activities. Minor upgrades and additional hangers will bring high end jobs to the northern region of the Central Coast which is very high in unemployment.
