The NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) is proposing updates to the Biodiversity Offsets Payment Calculator (BOPC) Order 2022, which sets the cost for meeting biodiversity offset obligations through payments to the Biodiversity Conservation Fund (BCF).
What’s proposed?
- Reduce BCF Charge Quote validity from 3 years to 1 year.
- Remove monthly indexation to simplify pricing.
- Improve how charges are set and publish them more quickly.
- Adjust delivery fees to better reflect actual costs.
These changes aim to make the process simpler and more transparent. The core BCF charge methods for most credit types will remain the same.
