The sport was first included in the Sydney Games and whilst the Australian Men's team was being lauded as a medal chance, it was the Women’s Team that won the Gold Medal. They beat the mighty U.S.A. women with only 1.3 seconds remaining in the game. The sport was not well known in Australia at the time, however, this match had most Aussies sitting on the edge of their seats watching a wonderful victory by the Aussie Stingers.
Many adversaries all around us, locally, nationally and internationally. Then, a shining moment in “a sporting competition”. Ash Barty triumphs in a very famous arena and humbly acknowledges her heritage, her country, her team.Australia is lifted, her humility, passion and respect shine so brightly and we have a hero of the finest order.Go Ash, continue YOUR journey on your terms, in your way. You do yourself us proud whatever, whenever, wherever you choose to go.
