The Sunnyside Bridge in Tenterfield holds cultural and historical significance for the community and surrounds.
Transport for NSW (Transport) is consulting with community and stakeholders to help capture the values, stories and themes associated with the bridge and identify possible interpretation options.
The purpose of the consultation is to:
- Understand the historical, cultural and social values of the community, and how these values can be best interpreted
- Determine how to represent the bridge’s significance and community sentiment
- Undertake best-practice consultation consistent with NSW Government and Transport guides and procedures, such as the Movement and Place Framework and Connecting with Country Framework
- Develop a strategy to inform our consultation with Heritage Council of NSW.

The information from this survey will be collated and used to identify themes and trends which Transport will consider when developing the Heritage Interpretation Strategy for this bridge.
Community consultation is open from Tuesday, 3 June 2025 until Wednesday, 2 July 2025.
