Help shape SafeWork NSW's regulatory priorities for the 2026-27 financial year.
SafeWork NSW is the state's work health and safety regulator. Our purpose is to secure safe and healthy workplaces in NSW.
For us to have the greatest impact on preventing harm in the workplace, we must focus our resources on the work practices and industries with the highest risks.
Informed by research, data and consultation with our stakeholders, we propose four regulatory priorities for the 2026-27 financial year. These priorities will form part of SafeWork NSW's 2026-27 Annual Regulatory Statement.
You can visit the SafeWork NSW website for information on the proposed priority areas:
- falls from heights
- managing psychosocial (mental health) risks
- exposure to hazardous substances, including asbestos, crystalline silica and welding fumes
- injury from mobile plant, vehicles and fixed machinery.
For more information on why these are the proposed priorities, see our consultation paper.
Tell us what you think
We want to hear from workers, employers, unions and industry associations from all sectors, and anyone with an opinion on health and safety at work.
Share your thoughts on the proposed priorities and help us improve workplace health and safety in NSW. Your feedback will help ensure our regulatory priorities for the 2026-27 financial year reflect the needs of industry, workers and the community.
